The house of the Báb in Shiraz, Iran was the site of His declaration of His mission to Mullá Husayn on the evening of May 23, 1844. The building was damaged by fire in an attack by enemies of the Bahá'í Faith nearly 100 years later, and in 1955, the building was destroyed as part of systematic persecutions against the Bahá’ís of Iran. It was later restored. During the Iranian Revolution in 1979, it was once again destroyed by Revolutionary Guardsmen, and two years later the site was made into a road and public square, preventing further reconstruction. |
