[edit] Significance

Unidentified Tablet of the Báb

The haykal represents the Manifestation of God, as described in the Súriy-i-Haykal[1], and is used in this way in the Ringstone Symbol.

"Strictly speaking the 5-pointed star is the symbol of our Faith, as used by the Báb and explained by Him."

(on behalf of Shoghi Effendi, Directives from the Guardian, p. 52)

[edit] History

The Haykal (Arabic: هيكل Translation: temple), a five-pointed star, was established by the Báb. He wrote many letters, tablets, prayers and more in the shape of a star. Many of Bahá'u'lláh's writings were also written in the shape of a Haykal. (See: Summons of the Lord of Hosts)
