The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Taiwan was formed in 1967, before then the Taiwan Bahá’ís had been guided by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of North East Asia. The Universal House of Justice had placed great importance on the formation of this assembly as it would be the first in Chinese territory. Hand of the Cause member Dr. Muhajir was assigned to represent the House at the National Convention in 1967, but he was unable to attend and Auxilary Board Member Mr. K. Payman from Indonesia attended in his place.
