Dr. Payman Mohajer is currently serving the administrative body of the Bahá’í Faith known as the Universal House of Justice, the supreme governing body for Bahá’ís. Dr. Mohajer was elected in 2005 along with Paul Lample to fill vacancies left by Ian Semple and Douglas Martin.
Dr. Mohajer was born in Tehran, Iran and received his elementary school education there before moving with his family to India. In 1984 he received his degree in homoeopathic medicine and worked for several years in a medical clinic. During this time Dr. Mohajer completed a master's degree in psychology.
In 1986 he was appointed as an Auxiliary Board member, serving until he was appointed to the Continental Board of Counsellors in Asia in 1991. In 1996 he founded the Baha'i-inspired institution, the Foundation for the Advancement of Science. He was called to serve as a member of the International Teaching Centre in 1998 and was reappointed in 2003. In 2005 he was elected to the Universal House of Justice.[1]
