Siyyid Muhammad Ridá

Siyyid Muhammad Ridá (c.1787-c.1828) was the father of the Báb. His descendents were from Muhammad the prophet Himself. He came from a successful merchant background. Siyyid Muhammad Ridá married Fátimih Bagum, the daughter of Mírzá Siyyid Muhammad Husayn. They had several children together but only one survived whom they named ‘Alí-Muhammad. Siyyid Muhammad Ridá died when Siyyid ‘Alí-Muhammad was nine.
