Mr. Stephen Birkland is currently serving as a member of the Bahá’í Faith's International Teaching Centre located in Haifa, Israel.[1] Prior to his appointment to the Teaching Centre Mr. Birkland served as an Auxiliary Board member beginning in 1976 and a Counsellor from 1993. He also served on the board of Trustees for Huqúqu'lláh in the United States for 10 years.[2]

Professionally Mr. Birkland held a private practice in psychotherapy for about 30 years and as an adjunct Professor for about 16 years at a state university.[2]
