Here is the story, brief but moving, of a girl of twenty-two who, almost before anyone in the West, sought and found the great universal Teacher expected by all religions. Lua Moore Getsinger was alive to the new age; she accepted Bahá’u’lláh, Founder of the Bahá’í Faith, in 1894. From then until her premature death in Egypt in 1916, she served Him ceaselessly, with a spontaneous gift of speech and a legendary beauty of spirit and person. She became a Herald of His Covenant and, guided by His Son, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá - with whose family she often lived, and for whom she bore an immeasurable devotion - carried His Faith across America, to Europe, India and Egypt, even to the reigning Shah of Persia.
